Twitter Cheap Wine Challenge

Ok Wine Bloggers... BRING IT! Pick out your favorite nationally available wine under $10 and post your tasting notes on your blog. Share it on Twitter by this Friday, January 15 at midnight EST. Then we are shooting for Thursday, January 21 at 8pm (hoping that is late enough for our West Coast friends!!) for a live BIG BLIND tasting of our favorites! The idea is to get together with a bunch of your friends, taste the wines we have notes for and pick your favorite! The purpose? Share a bunch of inexpensive but really tasty wines with the masses and have a whole lot of fun while we do it! Be sure to use the hashtag #cheapwinechallenge when you talk about it on Twitter!

  6. This post was from last summer, but the wine remains probably my favorite wine for $10 or under (I've seen it for as low as $8.99). Gouguenheim Malbec

  7. I don't have the resources to do the blind tasting, but I do highly recommend two of the nominated wines, Gouguenheim Malbec and Honey Moon Viognier. Oddly enough, both are in my top five wines in price and quality. Even if you're not participating, I still say give them both a try!

  8. Man! That's tough... can I have TWO?!

Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon Rose - $8-10 - have found it at Whole Foods and other larger wine shops. (http://tinyurl.com/yaa56ac)

Clean Slate Riesling - I think it's $11 or $12, but I've gotten it on sale under $10 at Whole Foods (http://tinyurl.com/ya6grec)

  11. Great idea. Sorry for arriving so late...
How about the Altovinum Evodia Old Vines Garnacha (Spain). It's an incredible red wine that retails for under $10.00 in most states. This post is from last October, but all of the wines mentioned still rock!
