Cheap Wine Challenge Recap

At LONG LAST! Here are the links to bloggers who reviewed wines for the Wine Ophelia Twitter Cheap Wine Challenge. I hope this helps some of you find some new-to-you inexpensive wines that at least SOMEONE else has tasted before and found to be good! We had a great time tasting and hope you will too! Let me know if you try any of them and post up your own opinions!

  1. Awesome! It was fun. I wish I could have participated on twitter live. I tried to find a few of the other ones on the list, but had no luck. For Zins, Dancing Bull and Gnarly Head are decent values.

Can't wait till the next one!

  2. Though I did not get a chance to do a blog on the cheap wine challenge (I was on a much needed vacation) but love the idea! Wanted to throw in my favorites - Indaba, both the Shiraz and Chenin Blanc are awesome wines from South Africa. And a favorite go-to easy drinking red is my d'Arenberg Stump Jump (blend or Shiraz). Look forward to trying some of the other picks, too!

  3. Should do it again. Maybe we (the participants) could settle upon 5 wines that can be found everywhere, or find a retailer who could ship the 5-packs nationwide (good luck with that!).

  4. Yes, I agree with Joe, we should do this again. I like his idea of settling on 5 wines we can all source. Maybe successive challenges could be focused on specific varietals too?
